Ketahanan Sosial-Ekonomi Perempuan dan Perlindungan Hukum dalam Islam: Studi Kasus di Tanjung Jabung Timur
Abstract
This study aims to describe the forms of socio-economic resilience among women who serve as primary breadwinners in the informal sector, as well as to examine the legal protection they perceive within the framework of Islamic law. The study was conducted in Tanjung Jabung Timur, Jambi, using a qualitative approach through a narrative method. The research subjects were seven women aged 30–50 who bear a dual burden as both economic providers and executors of domestic duties. The findings reveal that, despite experiencing physical exhaustion and emotional stress, Islamic values serve as a spiritual foundation that sustains their resilience. Unfortunately, the legal and social protection they perceive remains very limited, both from the state and from prevailing religious interpretations. This study underscores the importance of a contextual fiqh approach and the application of maqashid shariah to create a more just and responsive legal protection system that addresses the realities of women’s lives in contemporary social contexts.
