Implementasi Program Edukasi Dan Inovasi Bisnis Pinang Untuk Meningkatkan Ekonomi Kelurahan Pandan Jaya Kecamatan Geragai
Abstract
Indonesia memiliki potensi besar dalam pengembangan komoditas pinang (Areca catechu) sebagai sumber ekonomi masyarakat pedesaan. Namun, pemanfaatan komoditas ini masih menghadapi berbagai kendala, seperti dominasi penjualan bahan mentah, minimnya inovasi pengolahan, lemahnya posisi petani dalam rantai nilai, serta permasalahan sosial berupa penyalahgunaan narkoba di kalangan generasi muda. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kapasitas ekonomi desa melalui implementasi program edukasi dan inovasi bisnis pinang berbasis pemberdayaan masyarakat dan pemuda. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan partisipatif berbasis Participatory Action Research (PAR) yang melibatkan petani pinang dan generasi muda di Kelurahan Pandan Jaya, Kabupaten Tanjung Jabung Timur. Kegiatan meliputi observasi, wawancara, diskusi kelompok terfokus, pelatihan, pendampingan inovasi produk, serta monitoring dan evaluasi. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan masyarakat dalam budidaya berkelanjutan, pasca-panen berkualitas, serta pemahaman terhadap peluang inovasi dan diversifikasi produk pinang. Selain itu, keterlibatan aktif pemuda dalam kegiatan ekonomi produktif berpotensi menjadi strategi preventif terhadap penyalahgunaan narkoba. Program ini berkontribusi dalam memperkuat ekonomi desa, mendorong kemandirian masyarakat, dan membangun ketahanan sosial secara berkelanjutan.
