Perempuan sebagai Pelaku Ekonomi Rumah Tangga: Narasi Perjuangan dan Ketahanan dalam Konteks Gender
Abstract
This study aims to uncover the role of women as key actors in household economic activities within the context of gender inequality, and how their narratives of struggle and resilience shape the socio-economic dynamics of their families. Using a qualitative approach through case study methods, the research explores the experiences of 25 women from diverse socio-economic backgrounds in three urban and semi-urban areas in Indonesia. The findings reveal that women play a central role in sustaining household economies through various adaptive strategies, despite facing double burdens, social stereotypes, and limited access to economic resources. These results underscore the importance of developing gender-responsive policies that are grounded in the real conditions at the grassroots level. The study also emphasizes that women’s economic resilience cannot be separated from the social and cultural contexts that shape gender roles.
